Housing Society Elderly Resources Centre (ERC) was established by Hong Kong Housing Society in 2005. It aims at promoting “Age-Friendly Home”, an environment enabling elder people to live at home safely, comfortably and independently.
During GIES 2019, ERC presents selected elements from their existing professional health assessment programmes for the elderly, i.e., Cognitive Assessment, Visual Assessment and Electrocardiogram (ECG) Assessment.
In addition, ERC illustrates various innovative technologies under a home setting, which helps in improving the home environment and therefore facilitating independent living of the elderly. Different Geron-technological and innovative items are displayed during the Expo, such as Mototiles, an interactive device that incorporates music therapy and body movement; OrCam – My Eye, a wearable AI device for the visually impaired elderly; and Terraillon – Web Coach Easy View, a smart scale that monitors weight, BMI, body fat, muscle mass, body water and bone mass, etc.
